Joelle Wallach was an accomplished composer and performer of modern classical music. She wrote chamber, orchestral, choral, and solo compositions. She received many awards including the Inter-American Music Award of 1980 for one of her choral works. She was born in New York City, and she grew up in Morocco studying music privately.
